Movie Sketch Project #10

All right, we made it to #10! Cool. This entry in my Movie Sketch Project (wherein I make a piece of art related to a movie I reviewed the past week) comes from the adorable new teen comedy Easy A. I love Emma Stone more and more with every film I see her in (even Ghosts of Girlfriends Past dubbed in German), and she shines in this film even if the script is hit and miss. I liked the intentionally over the top Scarlet Letter imagery and thought I'd do a postery thing drawing from that idea. This is one of the simplest, cleanest designs I've ever done, which may not seem like much to you but it's a big deal for me since I have a lot of trouble editing myself and going for minimalism. I did it almost entirely in photoshop (with a basic pencil sketch scan) and it was very challenging since I'm still so new to using a tablet and I can't really straight-up draw on a computer. Eh, still not 100% happy with it, but it'll do. Click ahead for the image, and please let me know what you think!

It's available for purchase as a small print!

  1. I absolutely love much so that I wish the film used something like this as its poster or dvd cover.

    Splendid work mon amie!

  2. This is really good. Sadly, for whatever reason Paypal doesn't accept my credit card information and I can never use it. It def. should have been the poster for the actual movie.

  3. Wow thanks for all the kind words, guys! If you know anyone in the PR department for Easy A, be sure to give them my name!

  4. Neat design! I love how clean & bold it is. That scarlet letter really pops.
